Lakme Fashion Week(Winter Festive)- Day 1- Filmy Opening- Manish Malhotra

LFW Day 1- Opening Show being Manish Malhotra started was as filmy as it gets. With bollywood music  blaring, models swayed on either sides of the curtain creating an delusional mirror effect, silhouettes boasting of 'Sharara Pants'  'Sherwanis' 'Ghagras' & bollywood celebs dominating the front row. Though the presence of bollywood showstopper was missed on the ramp, it was a refreshing change to just have fashion taking the centre spot and not the celebs.

Special mention of customized accessories like heart-shaped and sack-shaped sling bags, acid colored spikes and laces shoes. The collection had a futuristic and whimsical feel

Arpan Vohra show was high on energy with electrifying music. "Lights Camera Fashion" theme took the ramp with white & black monotones with splash of neon pop colors on short fitted silhouettes as well as flowy gowns.

LFW Day 1 - Narendra Kumar's "Thought Police"

Highlighting the growing aspirations of the Indian youth vs. policy makers, Narendra Kumar once again sent a strong social message through his hard hitting fashion presentation at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013.

To the strains of A R Rehram’s “Vande Matram” a battalion of the Thought Police wielding batons and carrying the flag of the regiment lined the ramp. The story started with beige, yellow, electric, fuchsia and orange hues, signifying the energy of the youth and further moved to black and white to register the bleak outlook of the future.

It was a collection that will be applauded by the youth of India and global generation for its sartorial aspects. “The Thought Police” by Narendra Kumar gave a clarion call to awaken and act.
